The college offers a variety of courses designed to serve the academic, avocational and practical training needs of adults of all ages. These courses are intended to address a student's personal, leisure or cultural intersts. Courses are organized and offered based on adequate community interest and student participation. If a class you are interested in taking is not on this list, call us and offer your suggestion.
This course will give students an opportunity to become proficient in producing two dimensional fine art work. Various techniques and subjects will be described by the instructor. Each student will be expected to concentrate on the area or areas that most appeal to him/her individually and must provide their own supplies.
This course will teach students the basics of composition, color, and how to paint what you see. They will become familiar with setting up the palette, selecting appropriate surfaces to paint on (canvas, panels, etc.), choosing a subject, and making brush strokes. You will move at your own pace with individual attention from the instructor. Students provide their own supplies.
There is more to cake decorating than the icing on the cake. Learn the basics for seasonal cakes and special occasions. Students will work with flowers to borders. Students will provide their own supplies. Supply list given the first class meeting.
Basic Floral Design
Any time of year is the perfect time to enroll in Basic Floral Design where you can learn creative and affordable ways to add rich color into your home decorations. Create dazzling bows and fabulous dry, silk, and fresh arrangements. Students will provide their own supplies with the list of required supplies provided at the first class meeting.
Holiday Floral Design
Deck you halls just in time for Thanksgiving and Christmas!! Add holiday sparkle throughout your home using an array of fresh and silk decorations and be the envy of your neighborhood! Students will provide their own supplies. A supply list will be mailed to students on or before the first night of class.
Dos and Don’ts of Digital Photography
You don’t have to be a genius or a professional photographer to take great photos. You simply have to know your camera and then let your creative juices flow each time you look through your camera lens. This class will help you understand your camera, its functions and accessories, as well as teach you the components that make memorable memorable. Students will also learn how to download and manipulate photos, and how to work with exposure controls on your camera.
Home Landscape Design
Take the mystery out of the landscaping process as the instructor guides you through the various methods of lawn and garden design. This class takes you through the principles and practices of landscaping and maintenance for homeowners. You will learn how to beautify and maintain your grounds while enjoying the satisfaction of making things grow. No previous experience or skills are required-just the desire to get your hands dirty!
